The biggest-selling domestic pop star in all Hungary is stepping out in front of thousands of lonely housewives as part of his assault on the Christmas market. Jimmy Zambo, a crooner with a konk the size of a small mountain, flowing locks of curly hair and loud suits, has seen his last nine albums stay at the top of the local charts since 1992. Artistically, his most successful venture was an album of duets with Demis Roussos, ‘Jimmy’s Roussos’, which validated his claim to being one of the last great voices in European pop music. Come December 24, Jimmy’s new album will be under every Christmas tree in Hungary.
