The Soweto String Quartet make their first visit to Ireland with a night at the Olympia. They came to international attention with their first major gig, at the inauguration of President Nelson Mandela. Sandile Khemese, first violinist and musical director of the SSQ, has said it was the turning point of their career and the world’s stages started to open up to them. Since then, the group have performed to packed houses at the Royal Festival Hall in London and now play Dublin as part of a wider European tour.
